Application of container transportation in grain logistics (Part 2)
3. Advantages of grain container transportation grain container transportation refers to: container as a component of grain packaging and transportation means. In rural or grass-roots grain depots, the grain produced by farmers is directly loaded into containers and sealed. The containers can be general-purpose containers or special grain containers. If they are general-purpose containers, appropriate treatment should be carried out to ensure sealing, and then the containers are transported to railway stations or container terminals and transported to users all over the country or foreign buyers. Containers transporting grain can also participate in the container transportation system and enter the large logistics system of the whole society. Therefore, there is no need to build a professional grain container transportation system, which saves a lot of construction costs
compared with the circulation of packaged grain and bulk grain, grain container transportation has the following advantages:
1. The use of mechanized operation reduces the labor intensity of workers; Save manpower and greatly improve the installation efficiency
2. Simplify the procedures and reduce the tallying and handover procedures in the transportation link; The use of container multimodal transport can shorten the transit time and ensure market supply
3. Adapt to the requirements of grain transportation with multiple varieties, small batches and various quality levels. Different means of transportation, including roads, railways and waterways, can be used to meet different time requirements
4. There is no need to build special grain circulation facilities, make full use of the existing general container handling equipment, and greatly reduce the capital construction investment
5. It is not limited by adverse weather conditions, and can operate all day to ensure normal transportation of vehicles and ships
6. Save packaging materials and packaging costs, reduce grain losses and economic losses, and ensure transportation safety
7. Implement "door-to-door" transportation to improve service quality
stanyl and stanyl fortii's excellent processing performance also provides flexibility for the component structure and tooling design of the connector. The cost of grain transportation is a very important factor, whether it is the selection of grain packaging circulation, bulk grain circulation or container transportation, because many business activities of any operator's tensile testing machine currently used in the market to test the tensile properties of materials are to obtain certain economic benefits. Generally, the price and cost of container transportation are relatively high. Is container transportation competitive in cost when transporting grain
first, only the transportation cost is considered. Compared with grain circulation, container transportation has certain advantages in cost. If the annual shipping volume of grain is 100000 tons, the average cost of the whole packaging and transportation is 157 yuan/ton, while container transportation can save 31.76 yuan/ton and the freight is 125.24 yuan/ton. Compared with bulk grain circulation, the cost of container transportation is a little higher. For example, the rate of transporting grain from North America to the Asia Pacific region is 10% to 30% higher than the direct cost of bulk grain (see Figure 1 for the freight comparison of the three modes). However, with the expansion of the container fleet, the purchase of containers by grain purchasing units and the formation of container rental warehouses, and the maturity of the container transportation system, the freight rate may be further reduced
secondly, grain containers have great advantages in equipment investment. In China, the main means of transportation for bulk grain circulation are L18 bulk grain special train vehicles and bulk grain special vehicles. The price of L18 bulk grain special train vehicle is 230000 yuan per vehicle, with a load capacity of 60 tons, while there are two types of bulk grain special vehicles, with a load capacity of 8 tons, 172 thousand yuan, 10 tons and 220 thousand yuan respectively. If tractors, trailers and cars used to tow containers are not considered, the unit price of internationally accepted 20 inch standard containers is only 15500 yuan, and the unit price of multi-purpose dry bulk containers with a deadweight of 25 tons is 18750 yuan (see Table 1 for the unit deadweight investment of equipment). Moreover, grain production is highly seasonal, and the special grain system usually plays a role in the peak season, and is idle in the off-season. If the container transportation is used to complete the increased workload in the peak season, some investment can be saved, and the container can also carry out other transportation activities after completing the grain transportation task in the peak season
third, with the development of computer technology, electronic data exchange, interconnection and bar code technology, the advantages of the grading method of bulk grain transportation in the past in reducing transaction costs, office affairs and information processing are gradually disappearing, while the disadvantages of the grading method, such as: the lowest common quality denies high quality and good price, general quality cannot meet the precise specific quality requirements Unable to provide food to maintain identity, but increasingly prominent. However, modern information system and grain container transportation complement each other. Modern information system promotes the development of grain container transportation. Grain container transportation can also make full use of the advantages of modern information system to trade and meet the different needs of different customers. For example, when different quality grades of wheat are shipped in containers, the flour factory can take out and mix them for flour processing according to the wheat varieties and correct quality characteristics indicated in the bar code on each container, saving many redundant intermediate links and costs
fourth, varieties have to pay a price. The more varieties of products in the grain system, the more inventory on the supply line. The more varieties, the smaller the average operation scale, and the use of containers is more beneficial. Before the approval rate of the second and third-party quality system reached 100%, China vigorously promoted "order agriculture" in grain production, that is, the grain purchasing unit signed a contract with farmers before planting, which determined the variety and quantity of farmers' grain production, and the grain was directly purchased by the unit after production. This new mode of grain production shows that China's grain production has moved towards marketization, which also determines that grain production will inevitably tend to be multi variety and small-scale with the changing needs of consumers. Flexible and timely container transportation is undoubtedly the best choice for these grain purchasing units when the higher price consumers are willing to pay for multiple varieties and high quality can make up for the high cost that may be brought about by container transportation
finally, the cost not only exists in the transportation process, but also in the whole grain logistics system. Grain container transportation has more advantages in reducing the cost of the whole grain logistics system. The method with the lowest cost of sending grain from rural areas to ports is bulk bulk transportation, but this method imposes high inventory possession and storage costs on the buyer, while the transportation cost of container transportation may be higher than bulk transportation, but it will offset the buyer's inventory possession and storage costs and reduce the total cost of grain logistics system. Only by reducing the total cost of end customers can every member of the supply chain benefit from it. According to the estimation of relevant experts, the turnover time of grain transported in containers is nearly 70% shorter than that in bulk. The shortening of turnover time brings the buyer shorter order cycle, a large reduction in inventory, lower production costs, and improve the competitiveness of agricultural products. At the same time, it also enables the seller to recover funds as soon as possible and speed up the flow of funds
in addition, containers can be used for temporary grain storage. The international standard 20 inch container price is 15487.5 yuan, and the investment per ton of grain is 620 yuan/ton. In terms of investment, it is lower than the vertical silo, but higher than the bungalow warehouse and short round warehouse. Container grain storage has great flexibility. When the inventory is insufficient in the purchase season, it is used to temporarily store grain with great changes in their mechanical properties; In the off-season, the warehouse capacity is surplus, and the containers can be put into transportation. Temporary grain storage in containers can also reduce environmental pollution, improve working conditions, reduce labor intensity and save labor consumption; Grain storage shall be carried out according to variety, quality and grade to meet the needs of users for multiple varieties and small batches
To sum up, it is feasible to implement container transportation in the grain logistics system, and the prospect of grain container transportation is broad. However, this does not mean that container transportation should completely replace the existing grain packaging and bulk grain circulation. Developed countries adopt the mode of grain packaging circulation bulk grain circulation container transportation in grain transportation. China can fully learn from their experience and develop a grain logistics system with Chinese characteristics in combination with China's specific national conditions. The rational development of grain logistics is to complete the task of grain transportation in a timely, accurate, safe and economic manner, guided by the market. The bulk grain circulation system is suitable for the transportation of large quantities of grain, while the container is suitable for the transportation of multi variety and small batches of grain. Moreover, the transformation of the grain packaging circulation system into the bulk grain circulation system requires a huge investment. The grain container transportation can be operated as long as it is slightly transformed on the basis of the grain packaging circulation or bulk grain circulation. Although China has invested in the construction of bulk grain circulation system at present, due to limited financial resources, it is impossible to reach the level of bulk grain circulation system in developed countries at once, and China's container transportation system has begun to take shape after years of development. Therefore, China should vigorously develop the container transportation of grain while developing the bulk grain circulation system and making rational use of the grain packaging circulation system, so as to form a complementary Reasonable grain logistics systemsource: logistics industry
